Conference Collage Workshop

Attending Generation? Come join us for a collage workshop!

Join artist stylo starr as we cut, paste and chill! stylo will speak briefly about her experience as a professional artist, and will share tips and tricks on how to create collages with found images, old photographs and books, recycled paper and other objects. Participants are encouraged to bring a childhood photo or other favourite photographic memory to work with and include in their collage.

stylo starr is a collage artist whose work centres nature, fantasy and the Afrofuture. Her work is driven by the observation and integration of fine layered detail in a collaboration with her deep amateur interests in astrology, crystals, herbalism, lepidopterology and the metaphysical - all of which are frequently featured in her collages. stylo’s art reflects beauty and power, and she believes prominent and positive representation of Blackness in the arts is critical and necessary. stylo is based in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, situated upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas.

Join us on Saturday August 17 from 12pm – 1:30pm EDT for the workshop! Registration is free for all attendees and the conference will take place virtually on August 16-18, 2024
